Kiwiboard Wheelchair Transfer Board

$575.00

Lightweight, wheelchair  user Transfer Board Made from Carbon Fiber over Plywood.

Description

The Kiwiboard Wheelchair Transfer Board wheelchair transfer board has been designed and built with the “active” wheelchair user in mind to make the process of transfers to and from wheelchairs as efficient and safe as possible.

The highly polished top surface and carefully rounded/finished edges facilitate sliding the transfer board between clothing and seat cushions or skin and shower chairs.

The textured bottom surface provides grip on fabric surfaces whilst allowing positioning to occur.

Transfers between wheelchair and bed, wheelchair and car seat, wheelchair and shower chair, all become safe and efficient when the Kiwiboard Transfer Board is deployed.

The Kiwiboard Transfer Board’s light weight and attractive appearance is especially appealing to those wheelchair users who fly and therefore require the use of a transfer board to transfer on to the aircraft seats. Passing through the airports security screening is never an issue.

  • Dimensions are 60cm x 20cm x .07cm
  • Weight 500gms
  • Ergonomic Design: Custom shape with smooth rounded edges allows for easy placement under thighs.
  • “Easy Slide” Surface: The surface of the transfer board is an epoxy gel-coat that is durable and easy to slide across. Ideal for fabric to slide over. The textured side works better for bare skin such when transferring in the shower.
  • Quality Materials: Layers of carbon fiber fabric create a thin laminate skin over aircraft-grade birch plywood core which can support 120kgs.
  • Anti-Slip Surface: The bottom of each transfer board had a matt textured finish to keep the board in place during transfers.
  • Ultra-Thin Profile: The thin profile 6mm allows the Kiwiboard Transfer Board to be easily slid between the wheelchair cushion and clothing or skin.
  • Light Weight makes the board incredibly manoeuvrable, especially for people with upper-limb weakness.
  • Waterproof: Can be used when showering to transfer between wheelchair and shower chair without worrying about getting it wet.
