The Kiwiboards wheelchair transfer board, has been designed to assist the process of transferring the wheelchair user from their wheelchair to other objects such as cars, taxis, beds or shower chairs or vice versa, from the other object to the wheelchair.
The design of the Kiwiboard Wheelchair transfer board has been optimised to maximise the strength and functionality whilst keeping weight to a minimum.
The light weight makes the board easy to carry and manoeuvre, especially for those persons who have limited upper body strength. The finish on one side is natural, highly polished carbon fiber and on the other side a textured finish. The polished side facilitates positioning the board between wheelchair cushions and clothing whilst the textured side gives a non-slip surface to grip the fabric or other surface.
The edges of the Kiwiboard have been rounded and finished to eliminate the possibility of skin damage when using the board to transfer when the person is not wearing clothes.
The light weight and dimensions of the board allow it to be easily transported in a backpack when travelling by taxi or aircraft.
